# Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy covers VulnByte's website and games, including Bug Bounty Hunter — Idle (the "Game"). VulnByte is a small, independently-run project — this policy is written in plain terms, not legalese, because that's genuinely all there is to it.
What data the Game collects
Bug Bounty Hunter — Idle stores your save data (progress, settings, window layout) locally on your own device. We do not operate any backend servers, we do not collect analytics or telemetry, and we do not require an account to play.
If you play via Steam and Steam Cloud / Steam Achievements are enabled, your save data may sync through Valve's Steamworks infrastructure so your progress follows you across devices. That sync is handled entirely by Steam — see Valve's own privacy policy for how Steam Cloud data is handled on their end.
What data this website collects
This site does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking scripts as of this writing. If that changes (e.g. basic visit analytics are added later), this policy will be updated to disclose it before it ships.
Third parties
The only third party involved in the Game's data handling is Valve (Steam), for players who use Steam Cloud/Achievements. We don't sell, rent, or share any data with anyone else, because we don't collect any to begin with.
Children's privacy
The Game is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age — see above, nothing is collected in the first place beyond local save files.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Material changes (e.g. if we ever start collecting data we don't today) will be called out clearly, not buried in a date bump.
